Combining double black bobbins, black screws, and a matte black "DIRTY FINGERS" logo, the new Onyx colourway provides a sinister 'Blackout' visual effect, popularized among hard rock and heavy metal guitarists. The Dirty Fingers Onyx also features a short-leg baseplate which allows it to fit into most humbucker-routed guitars.

The Gibson Dirty Fingers SM is a recent spin on the classic Dirty Fingers design. It uses a single powerful ceramic 8 magnet instead of the three magnets used in the standard Dirty Fingers.  This increases the midrange punch without compromising the the overall tone of the pickup and guitar.
